Changing of the Guard, Climbing the Monument, and Borough Market

On the weekend after Easter, we decided to go see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. The parade started at 11:30 on Saturday and by the time we got there at 11:00, the place was packed!! We tried to get a good view from the grass, but it just wasn't working! Lucy then spotted a wall located on the opposite side of the street, so we decided to climb it! This wall was about ten feet high, but we made it to the top and had a wonderful view!! The changing took about 45 minutes and the day was so beautiful!!

After we witnessed the changing of the guard, we made our way over to the Monument. The Monument is built over where the Great Fire of London started. The monument has 311 steps til the top, but the climb is definitely worth it! The views were amazing! After we got done with our climb, we crossed over the London Bridge and I had the chance to touch the River Thames!! (needed to see if it was like the Allegheny!)

We were really hungry by this point, so we made our way over to the Borough Market which has nothing but food!! It was so busy, that our group of 6 had to split up and meet later in the yard of The Southwark Cathedral. Leandra and I ended up going around and the amount of samples we had was phenomenal! I was really full by the time we walked through the market, that I almost couldn't finish the sandwich I bought! We had cheeses, salsas, chutney, vinegar, fish, smoothies, fruit, pastries, and a lot of other free samples! After our walk through the market, I met up with Steph and we took a walk through the Cathedral. It was really big and pretty and I was surprised to know that this whole market and church was right by where I worked!
